Enter the Grove...
“If Mammoth Grove were a real place, it would be a place filled with the perfume of ancient cedar trees, towering almost endlessly above. It would be a moss-covered thicket where branches tangle and intertwine overhead like capillaries in our own bodies. In this grove, where roots run deep, and bark is broad and grooved as though it were carved with earthen tools, golden light trickles down from tiny breaks in the treetops. Here, in the placid silence, the stillness would give birth to thunderous music, which steadily would grow to match the size of its colossal redwood parents.”
"Great things come in small packages. This Calgary band might be a three-piece, but it packs a girthy sonic punch as gargantuan as their name suggests...
Mammoth Grove work hard to be able to use their instruments as a tool to communicate beyond solely notes and rhythm...
That 'something more' arrives in the form of freedom to improvise, which is created through the dynamic relationship between each of the band's instrumental components."
-The Gauntlet, University of Calgary-
"...Worth a look for the quality of songcraft and raw but still lush feel...Mammoth Grove inhabit a pastoral sphere and without forcing one second of what they do..."

ALL HANDS ON JANE
Grunge blues. Some psychedelia allowed.
THE ELECTRIC REVIVAL
1930s film director Tod Browning probably never listened to much heavy music in his day, but he most certainly understood what it meant to stand apart from the crowd. Such was the cinematic bite of his black and white thriller Freaks.
While the three members of The Electric Revival may not have had that cult classic in mind when they named their new album, guitarist-vocalist Ian Dillon, drummer Dallas Lobb and bassist Dan Toews are no strangers to playing the role of disenfranchised misfits who thrive on performing before an awestruck crowd.
The band's collective musical inspiration knows no boundaries, ranging from grunge, indie, doom metal, blues and beyond. However, what really drives the trio is the beauty and brilliance found in nature. Many of their songs contain stirring recollections of time spent amongst giants of the forest. Additionally, Mammoth Grove thrives within live jam sessions, connecting to the ever powerful flow-state to fuel their creative process.
Doors at 9 pm. Come party for All Hands on Jane's album release!!

Frankie McQueen "Frankie McQueen are a blues trio based out of Calgary, AB that bring you back to the roots of rock n’ roll. Taking the “balls out” approach when it comes to their live show, the stage is where this trio feels most at home and their onstage chemistry shows true brotherhood. Encompassing the attitude of Seattle grunge and the swagger of ZZ-Top, their music is distinguished by soulful melodies, hard-hitting drums, and fluid bass lines with the odd screaming guitar solo peppered in. Formed in 2007 by vocalist Scotty Charles and drummer Connor Muth, the three piece has never been afraid to take risks and push the standards of rock and roll. The addition of bassist Corey Adams was a huge stepping stone in creating the sound they now possess and was the catalyst that turned this rock group into a band of brothers. Since the release of their self titled EP in the spring of 2012, Frankie McQueen has had the opportunity to open for the likes of Sam Roberts Band, Flash Lightnin’, Bedouin Soundclash, and Daniel Wesley (to name a few). Having the philosophy of getting out and cutting their teeth on the road, FMQ are not afraid to work day and night. In June 2014, the band released their second EP “Nightride”, recorded and produced by Kirill Telichev. They’re spending the next year touring throughout Canada including shows from Vancouver to Toronto. " - https://www.facebook.com/fmqmusic/timeline http://www.frankiemcqueenmusic.com

Mancub "Mancub is the latest proof that Calgary is a musical polestar. The foursome’s blend of noise infused garage rock shows their willingness to experiment with sounds but that loud, layered riffs and pulsating drums is their main vein. Mixing artistic noise adds weightlessness to their stark rock roots." - https://www.facebook.com/MANcubDASband/?fref=ts http://mancubdasband.bandcamp.com/
Temple "Promoting themselves on the Internet is of no concern for gnarly Calgary rockers Temple, a quartet of riff-worshipping pals who pound out the biggest grooves. Despite having no recorded music, they’ve already opened for sonic counterparts Cancer Bats and Bison. Heavy beardos take heed, this is your creed." - http://www.sledisland.com/2014/temple

... is the perfect mix of Folk and Rock genres.
The group prides itself in adding punk and indie rock influences to their sound to create highly melodic and catchy music.
Aggressive vocals, powerful tempos, progressive instrument riffs and arrangements; married with roots/folk rhythms and lyrics that tell a story - Sealegs is a unique and enjoyable experience. Young and old audiences instantly enjoy and respect their sound.
"The monolithic dirge of DOOM rock/metal is still there, dour and grim as ever but it mixes and mingles with other styles and genres making for amusing and confusing mental imagery, like bong rips in Mayan jungles or pagan altars in outer space." - The Even Ground

Deeply entrenched in striking natural imagery, Mammoth Grove's powerful sonic creations evoke the heaviness of 70’s Rock and psychedelic stoner jams
Dead Pretty is a band from Calgary, AB. Their sound draws influence from shoegaze and psychedelic rock n roll. Formed in 2012 by Kenton Amstutz and Darren McDade. In the beginning, the two founding members spent endless nights, writing and recording demos on their own while trying to figure out which direction to take the songs. Then on, McDade and Amstutz performed with a rotating door of drummers and had a short run as a two piece, where they looped drum beats through a Maschine. Fast forward to 2015 and the band now writes, records and performs as a four piece with the original two, plus drummer Adam Mudry and guitarist Erik Ermantrout. Their first single "Death Row" released this summer, will be followed up by an EP this winter.
A trio of rock n’ roll heat scores from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada, led by a short, hairy man (whom was born missing digits) defying the odds and using what they got to deliver a loud, weird and woolly performance... Oh, and sometimes Frank sings too.

Earthless with The Highway Kind and Mammoth Grove
Tickets $25 in Advance from BigTickets.ca and Sloth Records
Formed in 2001, EARTHLESS prides itself on creating energetic, utterly unique and free thinking instrumental music inspired by an eclectic mix of German krautrock and Japanese heavy blues-rock. The Californian trio has dedicated itself to mastery of the mind-bending jam session, evoking the spirits of Jimi Hendrix and Black Sabbath in equal measure. Named after a song title from vintage New York garage-psych band The Druids of Stonehenge, EARTHLESS‘ sound has been called “A sonic kaleidoscope of lava and lightning”, earning it the title of “California’s loudest band”. The group delivers “one of the best live shows in all of modern, heavy rock,” leading to one reviewer stating that the band’s “epic shredding harkens back to the days were psychedelic rock had balls the size of grapefruits and wasn’t afraid to take its listeners on a ride for which they may never return.”
Each member of EARTHLESS has done time in many other bands. Drummer (and former pro skater) Mario Rubalcaba currently plays in the hardcore punk band OFF! and Hot Snakes amongst many others. Bassist Mike Eginton played with Electric Nazarene and guitarist Isaiah Mitchell was most recently in Howlin’ Rain, has played with Nebula and Drunk Horse and also heads up the Bay Area band Golden Void. In the end, EARTHLESS is the musical rock that grounds the three musicians and now, after more than half a decade since the release of their last studio LP, EARTHLESS has returned and is out to prove — through sheer rock power — why they are considered the cream of the modern day heavy psych scene.
